Step-By-Step Directions to Starting Your Linksys Wireless Routers
One of the most important things with using a linksys wireless router is the set up process. Still, in order to make it even easier, we're going to try and walk you through the process as well.
First, connect an ethernet cable from your modem to one of the ports in your linksys wireless router. At the same time, connect an ethernet cable from one of the available slots in your wireless router to your computer. While the router is wireless, this step is usually required in the router set up to help your system recognize the router.
Next, load up your web browser and visit the url http://192.168.1.1. This url is where you can run your linksys wireless router set up and create your username and password. The system will ask for your username and password as soon as you visit the page, after which you can customize a variety of things including security, log-ins and more.
However, our best recommendation is to avoid much of the hassle with setting up your wireless router and instead, just use the cd that often comes with linksys routers. This will step you through the process and cause significantly fewer headaches.
